Thursday Could be a Mess
The National Weather Service is advising people living in the Rochester area to keep a close eye on weather forecasts the next few days.
At this point, forecasters are predicting southeastern Minnesota will see rain develop on Wednesday night and change over to snow Thursday with a couple inches of accumulation in the Rochester area. A brief period of an icy mix is also possible around the time the precipitation shift from rain to snow occurs.
The National Weather Service is also stressing the exact path of the approaching storm system remains uncertain and significant changes to the forecast are possible. A winter storm watch has been posted for nearly the entire state of Minnesota because of the potential for heavy snow and even white-out conditions. The only area not included in the watch is the far southeastern corner of the state.
