Your own wedding is probably one of the best days of your life, but this wedding in Wisconsin was just named THE best wedding in the country.

I didn't know it was even a thing, but sure enough, there's an award for weddings. And this wedding from my home state of Wisconsin just won the 'Best Wedding of the Year' award from the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) during their annual NACE One Awards Gala, which took place July 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Now, as you might guess, this wasn't just ANY wedding. In fact, just to be eligible to enter the awards, this Channel 3000 story said the cost had to between $50,000 and $100,000. Hoo boy! Yeah, even if you include the cost of our trip to Jamaica, where my wife and I got married on the beach, our wedding didn't come even close to costing that much. (Come to think of it, forget the wedding, that's almost half of what we spent to buy our HOUSE after we got married!)

Thie story described the event, which took place at Wandawega Lake Resort in Elkorn, Wisconsin (between Madison and Milwaukee, about 4 hours southeast of Rochester) as QUITE the celebration. To put it mildly.

It said, "From lighting to seating to decorations, every detail of the event was made to enhance the natural surroundings. The resort turned the forest floor into an aisle and a 'love nest' into an altar, decorated with flowers and soft lighting at sunset. The after-party, lit by a bonfire and sparklers, brought the night to an end with dancing and confetti cannons."

They even used vintage goblets, Moroccan pillow poufs and custom-designed and hand-crafted camp flags, the story noted.  Yeah, I'm pretty sure our wedding didn't have any 'Morroccan pillow poufs,'-- did yours?!?  You can read MORE about the Best Wedding in the Country HERE.
