Could This Happen in Minnesota? Snow Car Fools Police
We probably haven't had a big enough winter storm with enough snow at one time so far this winter to allow this stunt to happen here. But keep in mind it's only January, and we're bound to get more of the white stuff. So maybe this COULD happen here.
It's the story of how police in Canada-- Montreal, to be exact-- were fooled into believing a car sculpted entirely out of snow was an actual car parked on the street, violating a snow emergency.
According to this MSN story, the idea was the brainchild of a local artist, Laprise Simon, who noticed a huge pile of snow had been deposited in front of his house after a winter storm.
“It was a beautiful day, so I decided to do something out of the mountain of snow, to do a little joke to the snow guys, and have fun sculpting a car. It’s not my first one, just the first I do in the street on snow removal day," Simon said in the story.
So, he got to work sculpting what appeared to be an early 90's Toyota, totally covered in snow, and blocking other parked cars. To really sell it, though, the story says Simon found an actual wiper blade and placed it on the snow sculpture.
Sure enough, Montreal police stopped by to ticket the car for violating a snow emergency, only to find it was wasn't just covered in snow-- it was MADE of snow. Luckily, they apparently found the stunt fairly amusing, according to a post on Simon's Facebook page.
"You made our night!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA :),” police wrote on the ticket, the story noted. It didn't say if he actually had to pay a fine or not.
Could you see something like this happening in downtown Rochester after a big winter storm dumps a ton of snow on us? It'd be pretty funny! Check out the pictures below...
