Should Burning the American Flag be Punishable?

I saw a story on CNN the other day, and it talked about burning of the American Flag and how President-Elect Donald Trump thought it should be a punishable offense.

I thought it was a really interesting conversation piece. Burning the flag is a disrespectful act, in my opinion, and it shouldn't happen. Now, other people believe that it is their first amendment right to be able to burn the flag.

President-Elect Trump has a strong opinion on the issue, too. He thought you should lose your citizenship or go to jail for a year, according to the story.
