Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A routine traffic stop in Rochester Friday evening resulted in a significant drug bust.

A spokesman for the Rochester Police Department says the officer who pulled over a vehicle near Homestead Park along 13th Avenue Southeast detected the smell of marijuana and asked the driver and 3 passengers to get out and allow a search. The officer found over 50 tablets of the drug ecstasy, along with a small amount of marijuana and an open bottle of booze.

The driver of the vehicle was ticketed for a traffic violation and driving with a revoked license. The front seat passenger, identified as 19-year-old Victoria King of Rochester, was taken into custody on drug charges but was later released pending the filing formal charges.

A 3rd passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant. 35-year-old Terry Heggs of Rochester has a long history involving drug offenses and previously served prison time for a shooting outside a local nightclub 10 years ago and a sexual assault involving a teenage girl.
