Rochester City Council Begins 2023 Budget Process – Already?
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - It may be the second week of April but the Rochester City Council will begin the process of fine-tuning the city’s 2023 supplemental budget when it meets Monday.
The city adopted a two-year budget last year, walking away from its traditional one-year spending plan but it still needs to approve an annual property tax levy.
According to a memo given to councilmembers:
This is an important first meeting regarding the 2023 supplemental budget. The team will present City Council a variety of factors influencing the budget for consideration in developing the 2023 supplemental budget. The team would like to receive City Council’s feedback on these topics as well as any additional items or issues they would like us to evaluate, assess and consider throughout the 2023 supplemental budget process.
Included in the meeting packet are several nuggets of information dealing with the city’s growth, housing and expenses.
