Stepping into Trailhead Inn and Suites Saturday evening, I was instantly greeted with the aroma of spices, hamburger, onions and chocolate.  Yes, chocolate.  The Preston Area Chamber of Commerce chili cook-off was about to begin.  Eight talented chefs brought crock pots filled with their special recipe chili.  Those in attendance were given spoons and cups to sample, and three beans to vote for their favorite chili.  Beer and wine was available to quench your thirst.  About forty folks tasted and voted.  Even hungry DNR workers stopped by to fill their bellies. Everyone agreed it was a tough decision as all were delicious. Counting the beans revealed the first place winner to be  Meghan Evans.  Second place Nancy Harrison and third place Denise Case.  Congratulations!  All in all, it was a fun evening with good food and wonderful fellowship.  Bravo to Preston Area Chamber of Commerce board members Hillary and Ashley for organizing such a great event.   Next year promises to be bigger and better!  All photos I.
