One Person Killed in Alcohol-Involved Crash North of Twin Cities
Wyoming, MN (KROC-AM News) - One person was killed and two others were injured after a pickup truck struck a guardrail on I-35 Friday afternoon in Chisago County.
The Minnesota State Patrol crash report indicated the pickup was traveling south on the interstate around 12:15 p.m near Wyoming when it struck the right guardrail and then rolled into the left median.
The two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger that was killed was identified as 37-year-old Brian Newby. The other passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Regions Hospital. She was identified as 33-year-old Amber Fountain.
The crash report indicated that neither Newby nor Fountain were wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 50-year-old Curtis Harris. He suffered minor injuries in the wreck and was not transported to a health care facility.
The report also indicated that Harris had alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.
