Olmsted County Grand Jury Returns 1st Degree Murder Indictment
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County grand jury has returned a murder indictment against the man accused of a recent double stabbing in Rochester.
The indictment charges 53-year-old Glenn Johnson with three counts of 1st-degree murder. One of the counts is related to a burglary charge. He was arraigned Friday and his bail was continued at $3-million.
The fatal stabbings occurred at the Castleview Apartments March 17th.
Johnson is accused of attacking 57-year-old Phillip Hicks while the victim was in his wheelchair in the 4th-floor hallway of the building. Police say Johnson then went into the apartment of 45-year-old Eric Flemming and attacked him. Both men were later pronounced dead at St. Marys Hospital. Johnson was trying to leave the building after the stabbings when he was apprehended by a police officer.
If convicted of 1st-degree murder, Johnson would face a life sentence with no early release.
