Two Seriously Injured in Crash Near Rochester Airport
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Three people were hurt in a traffic wreck near the Rochester airport.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a car driven by 24-year-old Sharada Yanambaka of Rochester ran a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 30 and Olmsted County Road 8 and collided with another vehicle. Yanambaka and a passenger - 21-year-old Ahmed Mohsin Ali of Rochester - were taken to St. Marys Hospital. Yanambaka was listed in serious condition Sunday morning while li was fair.
The driver of the other vehicle was 68-year-old Barbara Sauter of Hayfield, who was listed in critical condition Sunday morning.
The wreck happened around 6:00 PM Saturday.
There were two other fatal traffic wrecks reported by the State Patrol Saturday, including one that involved a motorcycle.
That one happened in Hampton around 4:45 PM. The State Patrol says the driver of a car had exited Highway 52 and was beginning to cross Highway 50 and failed to see the approaching motorcycle. The motorcycle - driven by 47-year-old William Slattery of Mound - T-boned the car. Slattery was taken to a hospital where he died. The car was driven by 19-year-old Caitlin Christen of Faribault, who was not injured.
