First Minnesota State High School Basketball Rankings Released
Southeast Minnesota is well represented in the first release of the state high school basketball rankings.
Minnesota Basketball News released their Top 20 teams in each class in the December 3rd issue of the Pacesetter Newsletter. In boys basketball, Hayfield took the #1 spot in Class A and Caledonia was #2 in Class AA. Austin and Owatonna were also ranked in Class AAA and Class AAAA.
In girls basketball, Hayfield was #6 in Class A while Lake City was #4 in Class AA. Goodhue, Rochester Lourdes, and Caledonia also made the ranking in Class AA. Austin, Kasson-Mantorville, and Red Wing cracked the Top 20 in Class AAA while Rochester John Marshall was in the Class AAAA rankings.
It was a strong showing once again for the area, but it is very early in the season. These rankings will change as the season rolls along, but it does show that there will be many great basketball games across the area this season. You can see the full rankings below.
