Man Arrested As Suspect in Recent Rochester Shooting
Rochester,, MN (KROC AM News) - An arrest has been made that’s connected to a recent shooting in Rochester.
RPD Lt. Tom Faudskar reported Tuesday the suspect was taken into custody Monday at a residence in rural Dodge County. He has been identified as 26-year-old Jervontia Allen.
Faudskar says he is suspected of being involved in a shooting near Riverside school June 8th. A man who was walking near the school was shot in the foot.
Police later arrested the driver of a car who crashed a few blocks away. Witnesses identified his car as the one spotted leaving the scene of the shooting at a high rate of speed. Another person who had been in the car was driven away by a second vehicle.
A stolen handgun was found in the car that crashed. Allen was arrested Monday on a charge of a felon in possession of a gun.
Allen was also being sought for failing to appear at a recent sentencing for an unrelated crime.
