The Mabel-Canton Cougars were great from the service line and it was too much for the Lanesboro Burros Tuesday night as the Cougars got the win 3-0 on Cool 104!

Lexi Thorson was off and running early, helping the Cougars build a 14-0 lead in set one behind five aces. It was that start that launched the Cougars offense that was tough to stop. Lanesboro did everything they could, but the tough servicing made it hard on the Burros and they couldn't capitalize.

In set one, the Cougars took the 25-10 win and then went on to win 25-8 in set two and 25-5 in set three. Lanesboro had some nice runs offensively, especially from Sydney Taylor and Lexie Johnson. Once the Burros were able to get into system, they put some really good swings on the ball. The problem was that Mabel-Canton's serving was too tough to handle.

The excellent serving, combined with some very good defensive play from Payton Danielson helped the Cougars run their offense well with Sarina Stortz leading the way with nine kills. Johnson led the way for Lanesboro with four kills while Taylor added three and Mady Haugen had three as well.

Mabel-Canton had nine aces from Thorson, got another one from Hannah Snell and two more Danielson. Danielson added four kills, while Thorson and Maddy Michels added three kills.
