SafeHaven, a non-profit based in Texas, works to end domestic violence and provide support and safety for victims. The organization shared a heartbreaking letter to Santa which was written by a 7-year-old boy who is staying in one of their shelters.

Blake wrote:

"Dear Santa,

We had to leave our house. Dad was mad. We had to do all the chores. Dad get everything he wanted. Mom said it was time to leave and she would take us to a safer place where we don't have to be scared. I'm still nervous. I don't want to talk to the other kids. Are you going to come this Christmas? We don't have any of our stuff here. Can you bring some chapter books, a dictionary, and a compass and a watch? I also want a very very very good dad. Can you do that too?

Love, Blake."

Blake's letter went viral on social media and his family has received a ton of donations.

According to the CDC, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience domestic violence at some point during their lifetimes. You can help provide a safe place for these people by supporting our local shelter.
