It was a back-and-forth battle between two Three Rivers Conference teams that were battling until the end. Elise Sommer connected on a layup with just over 20 seconds to go to help the Cardinals take a late 56-54 lead en route to a 58-54 win over Caledonia.

The Warriors led for a majority of the game and got some excellent shooting from outside the arc as the team connecting on nine 3's in the game. Both defenses were moving and jumping passing lanes and did a great job of putting pressure on the opposing offense.

The Warriors took a 6-4 lead early and then carried that to a 15-18 lead with just over seven minutes to go in the first half. Then, the Cardinals were able to battle back and ite it up at 27 at the break.

Lewiston-Altura used a quick 5-0 run to start the second half, but the Warriors called a timeout. Caledonia settled in an retook the lead quickly after knocking down a couple of 3's and then all the sudden led 37-34.

The teams continued to battle throughout the game. If there was a ball on the floor, both teams had multiple players diving after it. The Warriors built a lead at 43-37 with 9 minutes to go, but Myia Ruzek connected on a 3 and the Cardinals got rolling. Lewiston-Altura then tied it up at 54 with about three minutes to go. Then, the Cardinals found Sommer on the inside for the layup for the lead and eventual win.

Ruzek finished with a game-high 19 points, collecting 16 of them in the second half. and was the leader of the team on the comeback route. She was great down the stretch grabbing key rebounds and making plays for the Cardinals as they moved to 8-14 on the season. Janae Salvetti added 10 for the Cardinals, while Christa Sauer and Sommer finished with eight.

Haley Jennings was great for Caledonia, the senior had a team-high 16 points and played with great energy as she crashed the glass for offensive rebounds and hit on three 3's. Alexis Schroeder added 11 and Kailey Banse added 10.
