The list of local events being canceled or moved continues to grow. Lanesboro's Art in the Park is the latest to go virtual.

According to a press release from Lanesboro Arts, the group decided to re-envision Art in the Park in 2020. They will host a social-distanced and virtual event from June 20th through June 30th.

In response to COVID-19, Art in the Park will launch on the 20th and will have three components, including:

1) A drive-in art viewing at Sylvan Park;
2) Accompanying short podcast episodes featuring artists talking about their work;
3) A social media campaign featuring photos of work and short testimonials from Art in the Park artists

According to the release, the Sylvan Park drive-through Art in the Park experience "will showcase large-scale printed images of select artists’ pieces, covering a diverse range of artists that specialize in various craftsmanship such as jewelry, pottery, wood carving, and painting."

Some of the work presented will have an interview that goes along with it for spectators to listen to via a podcast. Participants can listen to the interviews with select artists on any devices that can stream podcasts or on the Lanesboro Arts website. The release also indicates that even more artists will be featured via the social media campaign.

Lanesboro Arts' also mentioned that their passion for promoting artistic creativity remains strong, and they aim to continue to offer COVID-19 friendly programming adjustments just like Art in the Park going virtual.
