La Crosse, WI (KROC AM News) - A blast of very cold air will move across southeast Minnesota Wednesday and this could affect the afternoon and evening commute due to an expected combination of snow and strong winds.Weather Service.

There is concern from the National Weather Service about blowing and drifting snow in rural areas into Wednesday evening. Snowfall totals could be in the 1-2 inch range.

Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 30s by noon Wednesday but then plummet. Low temperatures Thursday morning in the Rochester area are expected to be around -10. It will be even colder Friday morning with expected lows of -15, the coldest weather of the season.

Wind chill readings are predicted to be in the -20 to -35 degree range into Friday.
