A recent Gallup poll shows the majority of Americans think it's time to legalize marijuana. According to the Gallup survey, sixty-six percent of Americans think the government should legalize marijuana. Support is at an all time high.

Newly elected Governor Tim Walz agrees with the majority. Walz sees the potential for tax revenue and reducing the number of people in jail for minor offenses. Walz told WCCO: “I don’t think this is a conservative vs. liberal issue — the fact of the matter is prohibition does not work. I trust adults to make good decisions. I think it makes sense for us to be able to regulate, to be able educate and to use the revenues that come from this.”

The marijuana movement is growing rapidly. There are currently 10 states that allow recreational use, and 33 states including Minnesota that allow  medical marijuana.
