Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Olmsted County deputies had a successful ending to a high-speed chase that began in Oronoco and ended in Rochester early Thursday.

The incident began around 1:45 AM when a patrol deputy spotted a suspicious vehicle in Oronoco.

When the deputy learned a passenger in the car was wanted on an apprehension order, he ordered the man to get out. But the car took off and the deputy gave chase as the vehicle headed south on Highway 52. It exited at 75th St and drove to Douglas and eventually drove into Rochester on Valleyhigh Rd. The vehicle drove over stop sticks but kept going until a squad car make contact and spun it out of control and it came to a stop near Rochester Meats on 7th St NW.

Although a woman identified as 26-year-old Natasha Johnson was initially driving the car, she apparently switched seats with the wanted man during the pursuit. He was behind the wheel when the chase ended. He was identified as 21-year-old James Kenyon of Lanesboro. He and Johnson are expected to be charged with fleeing an officer.

Kenyon is currently on probation for a police chase in Rochester in April.
