Helping the Johnsons With Food, Friendship and Fun (Photos)
It was truly a humbling experience. A benefit breakfast for the Scott and Trish Johnson family of Preston was held Sunday at the Fillmore County Fairgrounds. A mouth-watering breakfast was prepared and served by friends and employees of B&B Bowl in Preston. In my role as casher, I sat in awe as folks made their way through the line, not only paying for their breakfast but adding to the free will donation bucket. The generosity was almost overwhelming. You may recall that the Johnsons suffered health and financial issues after they were forced to leave their home because of black mold. Scott, Trish and their children spent the morning visiting with and expressing their thanks to everyone who came out. They are a wonderful and most deserving family. Shelly Hanson, owner of B&B Bowl, said it best on her Facebook page: "I am so pleased and grateful to live and work where I do as I'm proud to say that today ALL of us raised $2,604 for Scott and Trish and their family". Shelly went on to thank all volunteers who worked at the benefit, as well as everyone who came out to support the Johnsons, and her employees back at the restaurant for handling things there on a busy Sunday. I add my thanks to this wonderful community. I am so proud to be a member of the B&B Bowl pay-it-forward team. All photos submitted and used by permission from Deb Finseth. Until next year...
