Red Wing, MN (KROC-AM News) - A plea agreement was reached today in the case of a Goodhue couple accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl and trying to recruit her into the "swinging lifestyle."

43-year-old Michael and 49-year-old Heather Germain appeared in Goodhue County Court Thursday afternoon and entered guilty pleas to charges stemming from an investigation launched two years ago into allegations they had sexual contact with the victim starting when she was 15-years-old. Court records indicated a search warrant executed by investigators resulted in the seizure of sexually explicit videos and images of the victim. Investigators stated the evidence was found in what is described as a “sex room” in the attic above the couple’s detached garage.

Michael Germain admitted to a single count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, while Heather Germain pleaded guilty to a felony child neglect charge and a gross misdemeanor drug count. She originally faced 9 charges and the complaint against her husband listed 14 charges. Both lists included multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct.

A sentencing hearing for the couple has been scheduled for April 12th.
