Heath is such an important factor when it comes to our lives, and Fillmore County is among the best in the state.

County Health Rankings produces the rankings every year, and in 2018, Fillmore County cracked the Top 10 (17 in 2017). Fillmore County got a big boost from the Quality of Life category, where it placed sixth.

In the category of Health Factors, Fillmore County ranked 19th, another solid boost, citing that the county has a low number of alcohol-impaired driving deaths and have great access to exercise opportunities.

Fillmore County was middle of the pack in terms of Clinical Care and Social and Economic Factors as patient to physician ratios were almost double the state average. Yet, the county makes up some ground ranked 29th in physical environment.

Carver and Scott counties were ranked 1 and 2, while Dodge county was the only other county in southeast Minnesota in the top 10, ranked at number 4.

Wabasha ranked 11th, Olmsted 14th, Houston 19th, Winona 35th and Mower 56th.
