Fatal Semi-Truck Crash Caused Winona Area Detour
Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) - Traffic was detoured off a busy stretch of highway near Winona most of the day because of a semi-truck crash.
The State Patrol says a northbound semi-truck left Highway 61, went into the median, struck a guardrail, and then went over a bridge wall and crashed into Trout Creek about 5 miles south of Winona. The crash was reported just before 5 AM and the cleanup and investigation at the crash site kept traffic off southbound Highway 61 until around 3 PM.
The driver of the truck was 64-year-old Randy Gunderson of Holmen, Wisconsin.
