The Dover-Eyota Eagles were trailing by two at the half, but the started the second half on a 8-0 run to take a commanding lead en route to the 54-40 victory over the Fillmore Central Falcons at Dover-Eyota High School.

The Eagles switched up to a zone defense late in the first half where they would trap the corners and the Falcons had trouble moving the basketball. The Eagles had the height advantage, going 6'6, 6'6, 6'5 at the top of the zone, and were able to deflect a lot of passes.

The Falcons were very aggressive all night, led by Nate Haugerud, who finished with 14 points. He continued to attack the basket throughout the entire game, and was a big reason why the Falcons were able to jump out to an 11-7 lead early in the first half.

The Falcons were able to attack the man-to-man defense to get their lead, and the Eagles did the same. Brady Williams attacked the Falcons defense from all angles, finishing with 24 points.

Williams attacked in transition hard to start the second half, while his teammates crashed the glass. Blake Blattner and Connor Martian were all over the offensive glass, helping the Eagles get second and third chances.

The Eagles extended the lead in the second half to 40-31, but he Falcons were able to close it down to a 40-37 game, but that would be the closest the Falcons would get.

The Eagles were able to shutdown the Falcons offense in transition and came away with the 54-40 win.
