Hermantown, MN (KROC AM News) -There has been another deadly officer-involved shooting in Minnesota, this time in the Duluth area.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reports it happened Saturday in Hermantown.

The man who was killed was identified as 37-year-old Timothy Majchrzak of Hermantown. An autopsy found he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the BCA, two Hermantown police officers and a St. Louis County sheriff’s deputy shortly were involved in the pursuit of a motorcyclist clocked at speeds “in excess of 100 miles per hour.” The chase was ended for public safety reasons.

A short while later, Majchrzak was spotted by some deputies who gave chase until his motorcycle became stuck. He then fled on foot and the BCA says shots were fired. Majchrzak was also struck by a squad car. He was given medical care but died at the scene.

BCA crime scene personnel recovered a gun at the scene. When the investigation is complete, the BCA will present its findings to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office for review.
