1957 Herb Score, pitching for Cleveland, was hit on the right eye by a line drive hit by Gil McDougald. Score's nose was broken and his eye damaged. He was unable to play the rest of the season.
1959 More than 93,000 people filled Los Angeles Coliseum on "Roy Campanella Night" to show their support for Campanella. In an exhibition game that followed a tribute to Campanella, the Dodgers were defeated by the Yankees 6-2.
