Another Rough Travel Day in Southeast Minnesota
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Travel conditions are not good in the Rochester area and other sections of southeastern Minnesota.
Law enforcement officers and other emergency responders have been busy responding to dozens of vehicle spinouts and crashes on snow-covered roads throughout the region. As of 12 Noon on Sunday, The Minnesota Department of Transportation is describing all roads south of Red Wing and east of Kasson as completely covered by snow and ice.
A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 PM today with the forecast calling for 2 - 4 inches of snow in the Rochester area. The National Weather Service is also tracking a developing storm that could bring heavier snow to the region Monday night and Tuesday. At this point, the exact track of the low-pressure center is uncertain, but forecasters say the is a good potential for 8 -10 inches of snow, and possibly higher amounts in sections of southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
