Brooklyn Center, MN (KROC AM News) - It was a third night of unrest in Brooklyn Center Tuesday as protesters confronted police, state troopers, and National Guard soldiers.

The scene was the same as the previous night outside the Brooklyn Center police station, where security fences and other barricades have been in place since Monday in the aftermath of the shooting of Daunte Wright.

After some of the hundreds of protesters threw alcohol bottles, bricks, cans and other items at the officers, police responded. State Patrol Colonet Matt Langer later said: “The behaviors that we continue to see are unacceptable and we're not going to tolerate them.”

For a second straight night, police fired flash-bang grenades and tear gas into the crowd. Police later reported making about 60 arrests. Unlike the previous two nights, there were no reports of looting.

The latest confrontation took place the same day the Brooklyn Center officer who shot the 20-year-old Wright resigned, along with the police chief. Officer Kim Potter had been with the police department for 26 years.

KSTP TV is reporting charges are expected to be filed against her Wednesday.
