If I were to ask you to picture someone who works at Walmart, what's the first thing that comes to mind? For me, it's the Walmart Greeter - the friendly person at the door who always greets you with a smile. It's one of Walmart's biggest claims to fame - other than that smiley face cartoon thing.

But sadly, the Walmart Greeter is about to join the milkman and the video store clerk as a job of the past. The company made the announcement that they will be eliminating the greeter position at more than 1,000 stores nationwide starting April 25. They'll be replaced by "customer hosts," who will also be expected to perform other duties like cleaning and helping out with returns.

Unfortunately, this position has been a popular job for people with disabilities, who now may not be able to transition into the new role. A spokesperson for the company said that they will be given an "extended transition period," but that's definitely a bummer.
