10 Bars Rochester Minnesota Misses Most From (around) the 1980s
Someone asked everyone in "Old Rochester Minnesota", a Facebook group, to list all the 1980's bars that are long gone. It made for some fun reading, many oh yeahs, and a few what the checks? don'tchyaknow.
What Was This Bar...and What EXACTLY Was the Name?
For example, La Bistro. What the heck was La Bistro? I can't find anything on the great Googles about a bar with that name in Rochester, Minnesota. Or maybe it's Le Bistro. Or Le Bistros. Or just Bistro. A lot of people put their voice in saying the name, but not one person said anything about the place.
If you know something about La/Le/Les Bistro(s), please drop me a line. I'm totally lost here. james.rabe@townsquaremedia.com
A Great Memory For Me and Everyone Else That Loves 80's Music
Also showing up on the list was 'Shenanigans' That brings a smile to my face because I used to host Retro Throwback Thursdays there. I didn't know Mary Tigner, but I'd met her a few times, a great businessperson who left our orbit far too soon (more on that story some other day). It was passed on to her son and that's when I got to work there.
What are the ten bars we miss from (roughly) the 80s in Rochester Minnesota? Scroll slowly and see if you remember them.
