People want to feel safe where they live, that is a fact. If you don't feel safe where you live it can have negative consequences on your life and health, but if you feel safe where you live the opposite if true, you'll sleep pretty well, and won't worry too much about letting your kids go outside and play. In the most recent list of safest cities in the US Minnesota had 7 cities make the list of top-100 safe cities in the US, according to CCTVCameraWorld.com, which used FBI crime stats to determine which US cities out of 7,000 cities worth of data was indeed the safest. One city in Minnesota even made the top-25 and it's located less than 30 miles from Faribault, and 55 miles from Minneapolis.

The list, which was put together by CCTVCameraWorld.com, took the most recent FBI data and calculated the safest towns in the US. According to a press release about the list "The rankings were based on the total crime rate in 7,000 cities across the country. The total crime rate is all crimes such as violent crimes (murder, rape, assault, etc.) as well as property crimes (burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson)."

So what Minnesota cities made the top-100 safest cities list? We will start with the highest ranking, closer to #100, and work our way to the safest Minnesota city on the list.

#97 Winnebago, Minnesota

Winnebago is located in Faribault County, and according to the most recent FBI crime data had a total crime rate in 2020 of 150.38 per 100,000 people. That was good for the 97th safest city in the US.
