Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A third man is being held in jail on suspicion of attempted murder involving the baseball bat attacks that occurred earlier this month at a campground in Wabasha County.

Wabasha County jail records show Daniel Walter Luhmann was booked into the jail on Sunday and is being held on first-degree attempted murder along with first and second-degree assault charges. He was named in the criminal complaint against one of the two men previously charged with participating in the baseball bat beatings of two men in the early hours of September 7th in Hammond. The court documents allege a witness identified Luhmann as the first person to swing a bat at the two victims.

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office says one victim suffered a broken jaw and cheekbone, a fractured eye socket, skull fractures, and other injuries. The second victim was treated for puncture marks consistent with being hit by a bat that had nails pounded into it.

The two men formally charged in the case last week, 40-year-old Joshua Daniel Larson of Millville and 30-year-old Elliott Glamm of Elgin, each face attempted murder and felony assault charges. As of today, both men are still being held in the Wabasha County jail.
