We have three local teams that will be playing up at U.S Bank Stadium this weekend. Grand Meadow, Caledonia and Rushford-Peterson.

Grand Meadow is set to battle Section-6 champion Waubun in a battle of two undefeated teams in the 9-Man State Semifinal. It will be a really good match up, as teams carry both a high-powered offense and a stellar defense.

Grand Meadow is going for its fourth-straight state championship, but Waubun is going to be a tough test. Waubun averages 40.8 points per game, and allows only 10.6.

Grand Meadow is no joke, either. They score 55.8 points per game, which is the most in 9-Man football, in Minnesota. The Superlarks also allowed a Section-1 best 17.1 points per game. Both teams have proven to be tough to score on, and tough to stop offensively.

Both teams like to run the ball, so look for the ground game to be essential to either team's victory.

Rushford-Peterson likes to run the ball, too. The Trojans played a great second-half in the State Quarterfinals, as they knocked off Murray County Central 44-21. The Trojans will look to continue their high-powered ground game against a solid Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers team out of Section 6.

The Tigers have a record of 9-3, and are coming off a strong performance in the quarterfinals that saw them beat Mahnomen 40-28. Mahnomen finished the season with a record of 10-2, and the Tigers handled them pretty solidly.

Be sure to listen in to KFIL at 8:40 a.m for the pregame show with Ben Aberg and Bryan Berg! They will call both games for you back-to-back! Good Luck to Grand Meadow, Rushford-Peterson and Caledonia!
