The Vikings have officially signed Kai Forbath today, according to the Vikings official website.

The move comes after the Vikings cut Blair Walsh, yesterday.

Forbath, who has been in the NFL for five season, has made 69-of-82 field goals in his career. The kicker has spent time in Washington and New Orleans in his career, making Minnesota his third stop.

Forbath is more known for being an accurate kicker, rather than a powerful leg like Walsh, but Forbath's career-long field goal is 57 yards, compared to 56 for Walsh.

The newest member of the Vikings has made 124-of-127 extra points in his career, so hopefully that will shore up the Vikings' kicking issues.

Forbath played his college ball at UCLA, and actually played with Vikings Punter Jeff Locke for two seasons in college. The Vikings long snapper, Kevin McDermott, also played his college career at UCLA, making it a triplet-UCLA specialist crew.

The Vikings are in action on Sunday as they host the Arizona Cardinals. Kickoff is set for noon.
