It was another busy week in High School Football throughout Southeast Minnesota, with some really close games across the area.

Rushford-Peterson takes down Fillmore Central 26-15 on FUN 104.3

On FUN 104 last night, Rushford-Peterson took down Fillmore Central 26-15. A balanced offensive attack from the Trojans was the difference-maker, especially in the 2nd quarter.

The teams traded turnovers in their opening possessions, but the Trojans were able to get their offense moving late in the first quarter. A long drive, capped off by a Brady Gile touchdown run made it 6-0 Rushford-Peterson. The Trojans then had a big stop on defense in the red zone to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard. Rushford-Peterson scored on their next drive to go up 12-0 after a Haydn Kahoun touchdown.

The Falcons were not going anywhere. They put together a great drive to end the 1st half that was finished off by a great throw from Dillion O'Connor to Bryce Corson for a 28-yard score and a 12-7 halftime score.

Rushford-Peterson used their size upfront to kickoff the second half and took their opening possession of the half down into the endzone on Kahoun's second score of the game to make it 20-7. The Trojans added another score in the 4th quarter to make it 26-7 on a Malachi Bunke touchdown run.

The Falcons needed to strike fast, and they did. Scoring in just over 30 seconds, the O'Conner hit Alec Sikkink for a 20-yard score and the Falcons were back in it at 26-15.

Fillmore Central had a chance to recover the onside kick, but the Trojans won the battle at the bottom of the pile to get the ball back, and finish out the 26-15 win.

The win pushed Rushford-Peterson to 2-0 on the season, while Fillmore Central fell to 1-1.
