Watch The Wild’s Matthew Boldy Score In His Hometown, In Front Of Family
Last night the Minnesota Wild were playing in Boston, and joining the skatriots was Matthew Boldy, a product of Boston College, who was expected to make his NHL debut. Boldy's family and friends were in attendance for his big moment, and as a bonus, he netted his first NHL goal in his hometown and in front of family and friends. Their reaction to the goal was awesome!
Boldy grew up just 19 miles southwest of Boston, and attended Boston College before being drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2019 as the 12th overall pick. The left-winger, who in his debut looked very comfortable, got his first goal as a professional hockey player at the 7:29 mark of the second period last night, and his family and friends celebrating the goal will give you all the feels.
At the tail end of Boldy's goal you see the family and friends celebrating, but here is a look at Matt's family just reacting to the goal.
You got to love seeing his dad and family well up with tears as their son, brother, friend netted his first of hopefully many goals in a Wild sweater. My personal favorite was the woman in the video mouthing an expletive followed by the word yeah, she was pretty excited.
On top of the goal, which made the score at the time 3-1, it was also the game-winner as the Wild went on to win 3-2 against the Bruins. The Wild are off tonight and play next in Washington DC on Saturday night.
