Original Story:
A snafu caused a very delayed Monday Powerball Jackpot drawing...but the numbers have been drawn and it looks like we'll have a record jackpot amount. It doesn't look like anyone won the big jackpot, but four Minnesotans have some cash coming their way thanks to the Powerball lottery. Read where those tickets were sold below.
The Multi-State Lottery Association reported the Monday drawing was delayed 8:57 AM today (Tuesday) because a participating lottery had trouble processing sales. It is apparently against the rules to say which "participating lottery" had the problem.
The winning numbers from the almost 10-hour delayed drawing are: white balls 10, 33, 41, 47, and 56, and the red Powerball was 10. No winner has been announced, but that may come later today.
If it does not, then the new Powerball Jackpot will be $400 million dollars higher than the last record jackpot...and that amounts to $2.04 billion. There's no cash payout amount available yet, but a fun fact, nearly all winners opt for cash.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
