Just a few miles east of Rochester, Minnesota, in the Viola Road, you're just driving along, and suddenly, you have a craving for grilled cheese and tomato soup. Is it fall? It doesn't have to be. You can get this craving any time of the year thanks to what most people think is a Quonset hut along the way.

(James Rabe)

It's HUGE, maybe the world's largest. In Colorado, there's a big soup can on a college campus, and there's a factory somewhere with a giant tank panted like a can of soup, I believe this is the world's largest.

"James, that's just a Quonset hut," they say to me. And I say, 'You don't know that! IT could be a can of soup buried on its side! DOn't harsh my mellow, mannnn!

One astute observer, Todd Suhr of Kasson, MN, who I found standing on the roadway admiring the magic hour glow of the can, wasn't quite sure when it was placed on the land...

It's been there ever since me and the misses were just dating. That was 15 years ago, now, so at least that long. Maybe longer.

And Speaking Of Huge Things That Taste Good

Hungry for an ice-cream sandwich? Then head to Hy-Vee because they just created the biggest ice cream sandwich in the world.

Oh, not in Rochester...in Plattsmouth, Nebraska HyVee.

According to KETV...

After 5 hours, and 30 Hy-Vee employees working together the tasty treat weighed in at a whopping 2,960, smashing the goal weight of 2,460 pounds by 500 pounds.

Most of the time people trying to win a world record, just gather three impartial judges, fill out the paperwork, and boom, they do the thing and win. Not in this case. They actually brought in a Guinness World Records adjudicator to watch and judge. That's a pretty big deal.

The almost 3,000-pound ice cream sandwich was turned into portions to share with two area food banks. That's COOL. (Hy-VeeYooo!)
