Vikings Hire John DeFilippo As Offensive Coordinator
The Minnesota Vikings made their splash this offseason by being patient and signing former Eagles Quarterback Coach John DeFilippo.
DeFilippo is highly respected as one of the top young offensive minds in the NFL. He was the offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns in 2015, and has been Quarterback Coach for the New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.
Here is what Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said about DeFilippo according to the Vikings PR team.
DeFilippo will take the reigns as the Vikings try to figure out who their QB will be for the 2018-19 season. It will be up to him to help make the call on Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Bradford and maybe even Kirk Cousins, who the Vikings have been linked with since the trade of Alex Smith to Washington.
DeFlippo has a great resume and is held in high regard across the NFL. He will also be the 3rd offensive coordinator in three seasons for the Vikings, who will look to make a run at the Super Bowl next year.
