The University of Minnesota Football team set a program record over the weekend when five players were drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The five players are the most since the modern-draft went to seven rounds. The Gophers had five players drafted 1990, but the draft was 12 rounds then.

Selected this year was Unanimous All-American Antonie Winfield, who was taken in the 2nd round with the 45th overall pick. Also taken were, Tyler Johnson, Kamal Martin, Carter Coughlin, and Chris Williamson. Winfield and Johnson were selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Coughlin and Williamson were drafted by the New York Giants. Martin was taken by the Green Bay Packers.

Johnson and Martin were taken in the fifth round, while Coughlin and Williamson were taken in the seventh round.
