Two Plane Crash Victims Found in Twin Cities Area Quarry
Cottage Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - The bodies of two of the victims of a recent plane crash near the Twin Cities were recovered today from a water-filled quarry.
A news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office indicates the search continues for the third victim. Officials note the search continues to be difficult due to the depth of the water and debris from the plane wreckage.
The three people were the registered occupants of a small plane that went missing after it took off Sunday afternoon from Fleming Field Municipal Airport in St. Paul. The wreckage of the plane was located yesterday in about 70 feet of water in the quarry near Cottage Grove.
The names of the victims have not been released. The crash investigation is being conducted by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office and the Federal Aviation Administration.
