Two Minnesotans Rescued From Flooding After Ignoring Road Closed Sign
Two Minnesotans were rescued yesterday from flooding after the driver droved around a road closed sign in an attempt to drive through the running water on the road Thursday afternoon.
According to the Lac Qui Parle County Sheriff's Office, the office received a 911 call just before 4 p.m. from an individual stating that they drove around a road closed sign and attempted to drive through the running water on the road. The caller also stated that the current was so strong that it pushed the vehicle into the field in the Garfield Township.
When the Lac Qui Parle County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, one man was standing on top of the vehicle and a woman was sitting inside the vehicle. The deputies were able to rescue both people who were stranded while using cold water rescue suits among other equipment to rescue the individuals.
According to the Lac Qui Parle County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the deputies were assisted by the Madison Ambulance and Madison Fire Department.
