Twins Pitcher Jose Berrios Named to AL All-Star Team
Minneapolis, MN (KROC AM News) - Yesterday, Major League Baseball announced that Minnesota Twins pitcher Jose Berrios will be representing the team at the All-Star Game in Washington D.C.
The 24-year-old right-hander is in the midst of a breakout season and has posted an 8-7 record and 3.54 ERA while striking out 114 batters in 114 1/3 innings.
Right now Berrios is the only Twins player on an All-Star roster, but that might not hold true long. Outfielder Eddie Rosario is in the middle of his own breakout season and is one of the five AL players who are up for the Final Vote and a spot in the mid-summer classic.
Rosario is hitting .301 with 18 homers and 53 RBI.
Eduardo Escobar and Fernando Rodney were other Twins that had a chance to make the game. Escobar leads the league in doubles with 35 and Rodney has 19 saves.
