TV’s ‘Master Chef’ To Hold Auditions Here in Minnesota

If you've ever wanted to be on the cooking show MasterChef with Gordon Ramsey, you now have your chance to audition-- right here in Minnesota.

The Fox TV show, MasterChef is currently nearing the end of its 9th season, yet it's already looking for contestants for its 10th season-- including a round of auditions here in Minnesota.

The reality cooking show, which features home cooks from all over the U.S. competing in weekly cooking contests all judged by celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsey, Joe Bastianich and Aaron Sanchez, airs Wednesdays on Fox. And, my wife I don't miss an episode-- especially when contestants lose a challenge and have to face the 'dreaded pressure test' to see who's sent home each week.

And if you've ever wondered just how they find all these amateur home cooks, one of their open casting calls is taking place here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, at the Hilton Minneapolis, on Marquette Avenue, on September 8th between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This Fox-9 story has all the details, but basically, you have to bring your already-prepared best dish (there isn't a kitchen available for you to cook there) to try to wow the casting agents. (Yeah, sorry, Gordon Ramsey himself WON'T be there...)

The story goes into more detail HERE, saying "You must serve one plate of food. You will not have access to any equipment to heat your food and casting agents will not supply you with any dishes, etc. You must bring your own utensils including the plate, knives, forks, spoons, etc. You will be given three minutes to plate your dish so bring whatever it is you need to do that." 

It also notes that to be eligible for the show-- assuming your food's good enough, of course-- you can't be a current chef (or ever have been one), or make the main source of your income preparing food.
