Class A, Section One may be the best section in Minnesota. Rushford-Peterson came out on top in the section tournament, but Fillmore Central and Goodhue have given Rushford-Peterson good games throughout the year. Really tough games.

The semifinal game at U.S Bank Stadium was not, as Rushford-Peterson defeated Browerville-Eagle Valley 49-0. All of the scoring game in the first half.

The Trojans, like they have all season long, relied on their strong running game. Noah Carlson carried the ball 18 times for 236 yards and four touchdowns, and it all came in the first half.

The Trojans defense was just as impressive in the win, as they forced three turnovers in the first half, including a strip fumble recovery for a touchdown by Jake Paulson in the second quarter.

It started right from the opening kick, as Carlson received the kick and returned it 28 yards. Carlson then carried the ball seven times on the first possession to give the Trojans a 7-0 lead.

The Trojans finished with 352 total yards, with 323 of them coming on the ground. Seven different players registered a carry for Rushford-Peterson, and as a team they averaged 9.5 yards per carry. A very impressive showing for the entire team.

The Trojans defense held the Tigers to 244 total yards, showing that they have a great combination of offense and defense, and they will hope to continue that into the Class A State Championship game on Saturday, November 26 at 10 a.m. You can hear that game on KFIL!
