The closure will start on Monday, October 20th, and occurs on a bridge on the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail, about 1/2 mile south of the junction of the Root River State Trail. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website, there will be no posted detour.

"On 10/20/20 the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail will be closed ½ mile south of the junction of the Root River State Trail and the Harmony-Preston Valley State Trail due to bridge construction. There will be no posted detour and the trail will not be open on the weekends."

The Minnesota DNR also noted that trails might get busy during weekends and nice weather.

"Many trails get busy in nice weather and on weekends - consider visiting during off-peak hours if you can. Visitors are encouraged to use trails close to their homes, and to practice safe social distancing by keeping at least 6-10 feet away from others, including when approaching or passing on the trail. If you see a lot of cars in the parking lot or at the trailhead, turn around and find someplace else (link is external) for outdoor recreation."

The DNR is not posting a completion date at this time due to weather-dependent work.
