Fun Fact: in the United States, the average resident eats 224.6 pounds of meat a year. And Minnesota is one of the hot spots for steak consumption.

The United States had a huge spike in red meat consumption back in the 1970s. Since then, data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) shows that there has been a slight decline in red meat consumption per person since those bell-bottom-wearing days. Most likely, the recession in 2008 caused those smaller numbers. It wasn't a very large decrease though and since about 2019, the trend is projecting up again.

If you are wanting to up that iron count, Minnesota is one of the best spots to grab a thick, juicy steak. In fact, the Land of 10,000 Lakes has some of the best steakhouses in the entire country!

I grew up with cows basically at every corner of my existence in Iowa. I didn't grow up on a farm but had no problem finding a good steak if I wanted to eat one...or corn. There was lots and lots of corn around too.
