It's here, the prediction from the Old Famer's Almanac for our 2020-21 Minnesota winter. Cross everything that you can, your fingers your toes, and wish upon a star or something that we are going to have an ok winter.

Ok, here it goes...

In the Upper Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin and northern Michigan), snowfall will be above normal. In the eastern Dakotas, snowfall will be below normal. The snowiest periods will be in late December, early and late January, late February, and early March.

Depending on your view of winter this could either be a good thing or a bad thing to you. Above-normal snowfall could sound like the perfect winter! And to others, all you picture is more work shoveling all the snow, trying to drive through the stuff to get to work and the grocery store.

The other part of the prediction says that our temperature is going to be "warmer than what's average" which could definitely mean a lot of rain and not a lot of snow. I just hope this doesn't mean we're going to have another one of those winters where the road becomes a sheet of ice and is impossible to drive on.

They also say that the coldest parts of our winter are expected to be "in December as well as late January and late February."

What do you think about these predictions? Do you even believe the Old Famer's Almanac? For the most part, I see what they say to then compare and see how accurate they end up being! The Old Famer's Almanac does claim to be 80% accurate, which is a pretty high accuracy rate for weather predictions.
