Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A few inches of snow could fall across southeast Minnesota Tuesday.

And it could mix with freezing drizzle during the afternoon hours.

The National Weather Service is calling for quiet and cold conditions the rest of the week but a blast of frigid temperatures is expected to arrive by New Year’s Day. Highs are only expected to get into the single digits Saturday and low temperatures Sunday morning could drop to around -10 degrees.

It will be much colder in that part of the state during the New Year’s weekend with lows dipping to around -20 degrees.
