Small Wisconsin Brewery Creates Beer With A Christmas Tree In It

How do you make a Christmas beer? You put the Christmas tree right in there with the rest of the ingredients. At least that's what Black Huskey Brewing in Milwaukee is doing.

According to WTMJ-TV, the "Tree Spruce" beer is made with actual cuttings from the City of Milwaukee Christmas tree. It's a spruce, so the name it apt. Yes, they use the tree in the beer. Which totally makes sense, I just imagine a branch popping out of the top of one of the fermenting tanks.

Can I Get This Beer in Rochester?

No.

Well, yes, if you drive to 909 E. Locust Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. That's the only place is selling the 9.9% beer.

If you do drive there, you'll be making a donation more than you'll be buying a Christmas beer, because sales support the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund. That's a group that works to get trees planted all over the city, from commercial districts to local schools.

On WTMJ, Black Huskey Brewing's co-owner Tim Eichinger said

"You’re trying to give back and it’s a season of giving. It may seem like a small thing, but if we all do these small things, it becomes a big deal..."
